MSHP Pharmacy Technician Scholarship

Purpose

To provide monetary support that aligns with the Maryland Society of Health-System Pharmacy’s Strategic goals, to technicians who are seeking to further themselves academically and professionally, and have an interest in health-system pharmacy practice. These funds are intended to defray the cost related to professional development. All requests related to professional development will be considered.

Eligibility Criteria

MSHP recognizes and encourages all pharmacy technicians to apply for the pharmacy technician scholarship. The applicant shall be an active member of the Maryland Society of Health-System Pharmacy, currently enrolled in a pharmacy technician training program in good academic standing or practicing as a licensed pharmacy technician, and must provide documentation of the request for support, including a specific budget requested.

The MSHP Pharmacy Technician Committee will evaluate all applications that meet the criteria and determine the monetary award based on merit.

Examples of a request for support (not all inclusive):

  • To assist with registration fees to attend a professional meeting
  • To assist with Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT)
  • To assist with professional dues
  • To assist with a rotation learning experience

The submission should include a brief statement (maximum 1 page) regarding your request for the technician scholarship. Please explain how the funds will be used to support professional development. Please also include a proposed budget (include itemized details with justification for each item). This information can be uploaded in one document using the file upload field. 

Deadline


Information about the fall 2024 scholarship will be provided soon.

Process


The MSHP Pharmacy Technician Committee will review all award submissions and notify applicants of the results in December.
