| The ASHP Health-System Pharmacy 2015 Initiative (2015 Initiative) is off
to a strong start toward achieving the goal of making medication use
more effective, scientific and safe. The Maryland Society of
Health-System Pharmacists (MSHP) is committed to helping hospitals and
Health-Systems in Maryland maintain a leadership position in providing
quality care and believes the 2015 Initiative is one tool to help make
this happen. |

| Pharmacy directors in Maryland recently completed a baseline assessment
survey of the 31 objectives of the ASHP 2015 Initiative. Our purpose in
conducting this survey was to gather the information necessary to assess
our progress, as a state, in achieving these goals. Survey responses
have been collected and the results of this survey are posted here for
your information. |
| |
| The survey results provide assistance in identifying members' strengths
and weakness associated with the 2015 targets. It is apparent that our
members are making great strides in some areas of pharmacy practice.
However, the survey responses also indicate some collective areas of
practice where opportunity for improvement exists. MSHP will focus on
these areas as targets for future programs and services it provides to
members to help improve the scope and quality of services Maryland
pharmacists are able to provide to our patients. |
